My name is Michael Spencer and I am 8 years old. I like to ride my bike. My favourite colour is green, and my favourite book is “The Disappearing Bike Shop".

(1) A Trip To The Beach

The Reid’s family came home to find that Pal had gone. They looked all over for Pal, but all they found was a little note with a paw print. Little did they know, Pal was riding on the subway!

Pal was enjoying his ride on the subway. He thought he might go to EBgames and around the whole world. Pal was the Reid’s pet dog.

The man sitting next to him on the subway was chirping like a bird and making funny faces.

"Where are you going?" Pal asked the man. He answered, "I'm going to the beach to build a sandcastle in the shape of a cow."

Pal thought this sounded much more exciting than going to EBgames and around the whole world. Pal imagined building a sandcastle that looked like the Great Pyramids.

"Hmmm," said Pal, "building sandcastles would be even more fun with Arthur." So he got off the subway and ran back to the Reid’s house as fast as a turtle fighting a gibbon.

Pal barked eagerly at a picture of the beach in the newspaper. The Reids thought he might like to go, so the whole family went down to the beach and built sandcastles all day long!

(2) Worried Sick

One day Adam received a box at his door. The box had a pie in it. The way he could tell that the box had a pie in it, was that he could smell any kind of food and identify it by his very excellent gift of smell. His mom said she ordered the pie for her boyfriend, Harry. She said he would be there at six o' clock. She had bought this pie for him because it was his birthday.

It was now six o' clock and Harry still didn’t show up. She attempted to call him but all she got was a busy signal on his cellphone, the only phone he possessed. Adam’s mom, Angel asked Adam to visit him to give Harry the pie. Adam was almost at Harry's house when some dogs smelled the pie and made a run for him. The dogs kept on chasing him for some time. Suddenly, the owner of the dogs blew a whistle and the dogs calmed down. Adam thanked the woman for quieting the dogs. Adam's mom called Harry to enquire whether Adam was there. Finally she was able to get him on the cellphone. Adam’s mom asked because it was getting late. Harry said that Adam was not there. Angel was very worried. She went to Harry's house to see for herself if he was there. When she met Adam, he was about approaching Harry’s door. Adam rang the doorbell. Adam’s mom asked, "Why were you so late?"

"Oh. When I was going to Harry’s home some dogs smelled the pie so they chased me around for awhile. A woman quieted the dogs. Then I came here to give the pie", said Adam.

Angel and Adam did not notice Harry was right at the door. He overheard the story. Angel was going to knock on the door. Adam said, "Um...mom." But she accidentally knocked on Harry’s stomach. Everybody laughed. Adam handed the pie to Harry. Harry said,"Thanks". Then Adam and Angel said, "Happy Birthday!"
